Creating a universal labeling system from production to point of sale
A highly-legible system to keep popsicles organized and easy to identify for everyone from employees to children choosing a summer treat.
Challenge
King of Pops is a rapidly-growing popsicle producer and distributor. Currently, printed written labels are used to indicate boxes of different flavors as they are stored post-production, handwritten printer-paper signs are used to indicate the flavors in specific chest freezers that are used to load the sales carts, and handwritten blackboard signs are used to indicate available flavors at the point of sale. This is difficult for employees, who have to stop and read signs each time they are looking for a specific flavor, and also difficult for customers who have to read sometimes messy handwriting and list out all of the flavors to their small children.
Solution
My team and I designed a legible labeling system that indicated different flavors through color, illustration, and writing. These same labels could be used in sticker or magnet form to indicate flavors from production to point of sale. We also redesigned the menu boards so that they were magnetic and so that they integrated onto the top of the sales carts, making them easier to transport.

Results
While this solution has not yet been implemented by the company, we received very positive feedback from the production manager as well as the sales manager.
